Are inverted tables for back pain relief safe if one had laser LASIK surgery one year ago?

ivonne asked:

Hi there!

I have seen a programme on inverted tables for back relief. It seems that 15 min are recommended vertically once you have got used to it and I have checked a website that it mentions that its counterproductive if you have retina problems, conjuntivitis or high blood pressure.

I am 31 and I had eye surgery one year ago for short sightedness and stigmatism. After one year, they said my eyes are fine, eye pressure is fine and that the retina test just showed rugged vessels towards the back of the eye, which according to another oftalmologist (not this one) needs to be watched.

Just wondering if a maximum of 4-5min a day before going to bed, and not 15 min twice a day as it´s recommended, would be good enough for my eyes and for relieving my cervical, dorsal and lumbar pain as a result of bad posture and tight quadriceps and hip muscles!

Any advice would be kindly appreciated! Cheers!

I wore hard contact lenses from age 13-28. That was before they had “gas permeable” lenses. I had trouble with my left eye from the beginning. My opthamologist told me my eyes were very dry, and to try artificial tears. That helped somewhat. By the time I was 28 I couldn’t stand to wear the contacts anymore, because the pain in my left eye felt like there a hot branding iron on my eyeball. When I popped the lens out it was fine. Then a different opthamologist told me a was a pefect candidate for “Radial Keratotomy.” That was before “Lasik.” Ever since the day I had the RK, I have the same pain in my left eye. After seeing over 60 doctors around the country, they all agreed that drug therapy was the only thing that could help me. So I’ve been on morphine and codeine for over 20 years. The doctors call it “optic neuralgia.” Has anyone ever experienced anything like this? Thank you.

I had LASIK two weeks ago today, I had alot of pain for about 8 hours after. Although I have had no pain since my vision is still very blurred. I cannot see well enough to drive. The clinic where I had the treatment have told me my eyes are inflamed and until inflamation goes down my vision will remain blurred but I have no answers as to how long this will take?

Hey its been about 5 days since I had lasik. My doctor said I should be okay in a day, but I don’t feel so. I don’t have any pain, however I feel that lasik has not corrected my vision as well as I was before wearing glasses. While I can see stuff on my computer, I get strained after 10 minutes of using it. Also, it feels as if my vision drops every time I use the computer.

I’ve been sleeping/closing my eyes at least 18 hours per day, since I can’t seem to do much. I feel like there is some sight left.

Is this problem normal? How long will it take to recover from lasik? This is incredibly frustrating.

If you have or know someone who did, how did you/they do after the surgery? Was there any pain during or after the surgery? Was your/their eye sight an improvement?
I am thinking about getting LASIK done on my eyes and was wanting some feedback, thanks in advance.

Neck pain and headache?

PeanutNamedSquirt asked:

I have daily neck pain on my left side that causes headaches. I was in an auto accident 7 1/2 years ago and had whiplash. Ever since then I have had neck soreness but for the past year it has been constant pain and headaches. I had lasik and sinus surgery since both my eyes and sinuses were causing headaches but now the pain is still here and I noticed it is always accompanied by this neck pain. I see a chiropractor regularly who has me do neck strengthening exercises and I have also had massages but they both only help for about a day and the pain is back. I have had migraines for years and sometimes my Relpax helps the headache even though it is not a migraine.

I am going to see my doctor tomorrow but I am tired of getting blown off and told that it is a strained muscle. Does anyone have any experience with this and could help me with what could be wrong so I know how to proceed with my treatment. I just want to be able to find a cause for this pain.

help?

Lasik eye surgery has caused me severe pain, damage and trauma. Every day of my life it consumes me. Every day, all day, my eyes are extremely dry, sore and in severe pain. I use expensive eye drops and they only provide a split second of relief. It is painful to do my favorite activities, such as reading. It is painful to do my job as i work from a computer. I am scared to go swimming, to the beach, or snowboarding because they may only irritate my eyes further. I can not go outside without sunglasses. I no longer think i can go back to school because reading is so painful. It is painful to sleep and painful to wake up. All day i live in complete misery. I am only 24 and am sad every day because i realize my life has been ruined from this surgery. Today i saw someone wearing glasses and was wholly consumed with envy. I wish i could wake-up from this nightmare. I’m scared and have little hope. I don’t want this to happen to others. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
