If someone could provide an educated opinion on the topic I’d appreciate it. My LASIK surgeon recommended either the Bausch & Lomb 217Z (flying spot) or the Bausch & Lomb Zyoptix (custom wavefront). When I search for articles on the web, all I get are articles promoting one or the other, but I cant find a comparison. It seems like the Zypotix comes higher recommended but is it worth an extra $800? Or is the improvement between custom wavefront over flying spot worth it?

I have booked my eye surgery and cant wait, I have opted for the wavefront LASIK procedure without intralase. Anyone else not had intralse? what are the pros + cons and do I NEED to have intralase? its just that I had a budget and intralase adds £600 to that budget which I will struggle to afford.

Hello I am 20 years old and had the Wavefront Custom Lasik on both of my eyes back in August and I currently am experiencing a few issues. One, my day vision is very good (alot better than before) so I’m happy with that. However, my night vision is horrible especially with glare from oncoming lights while driving (I literally feel it’s unsafe for me to drive at night) as I get blinded constantly and nearly drive off the road and unable to see obstructions. I tried to call my doctor but he says this is normal and should go away.. I’m doubtful. Also, I am noticing that my eyes are always red ish now where you can see all my veins, it wasn’t like that up until about a month ago. I try using more drops but this actually causes my eyes to turn more red. If I don’t use any drops my eye are red but its mostly that you can see the veins in my eyes, and that won’t seem to go away. Any suggestions? I’m worried. Thanks

And what is the difference between wavefront and normal lasik? Is there a kind of lasik that doesn’t require the surgeon cutting the cornea?
